Members-only quest

The Temple of Ikov

Difficulty level: Hard, Members Only

Reward: 1 Quest Point, 10500 Ranged experience, 8000 Fletching experience, and you can keep the pendant of Lucien.

Skills needed: Level 40 Ranged, level 42 Thieving

Items needed:  a yew or magic bow, 20 limpwurt roots, a knife, and a lit candle.

Start: A mysterious stranger called Lucien asks you to retrieve an artifact known as the Staff of Armadyl. Speak to him in the 'flying horse' Inn in Ardougne (north west of the Paladins Tower).

Boots of lightness: Enter the temple dungeon northeast of Ardougne and wear your amulet of Lucien to enter the dark room (known as the room of fear). Find the staircase, you need lit candle for this bit. Chop the spider webs to gain access to the Boots of Lightness.

Lever piece: Go back up the staircase and through the other door in the room of fear. You should be in a room of level 45 skeletons. Wear the Boots of Lightness (make sure your weight is equal or below 0) to walk across the bridge and through the door and retrieve the lever piece. Go back across the bridge.

Ice Arrows: In the first area of the temple (where you first climb down the ladder) there is a lever bracket on the wall. Use your lever piece on this, then pull the lever. That will unlock the south gate. Visit bank and bring your best armour and lots of food. Go back to the cave and enter the Ice room. You must walk for 10-15 minutes among level 61 ice spiders searching crates and collecting ice arrows. You will need 30-50 arrows, depending on your Ranged level. On level 51 Ranged I needed 28 shoots.

Go back to the bank, this time bring your Ice arrows, Yew of Magic bow, food, and magic-resistant armour (dragon hide?). Don't bother to bring your rune armour. You will fight a pure mage monster.

Fire Monster: Go down the ladder, north through the skeleton room, then straight north to a lever with a trap door. DO NOT PULL THE LEVER YET! Search for traps on the lever and disarm it, then you may pull the lever. Go west, open the door and go across the room to the next door. Try to open that door and Lesarkus the Fire Warrior will appear and say you may not pass. Then he will start maging you. You may range him with the ice arrows only. If you have Protect from Magic prayer,  put this on so he cant hurt you, and drink your prayer potions whenever your prayer is low. Once you kill him go back to the bank.

Winelda The Witch: This time bring with you your best melee armour and weapon, 20 limpwurt roots, some food. Return to the dungeon, go past the door protected by the Fire Monster. Talk to Winelda and give her 20 limpwurts. She will teleport you across the lava.

The Shiny Key: Once over the lava, follow this path all the way to the end, past skeletons, lesser demons, and the ladder, and you will see a shiny key on the ground. Pick it up, and return to the room with the guardians in it. The Staff is in the northwest corner, but first, you have to make a decision. The Guardians) or the Bad side (Lucien).

Side with Guardians: Take off your pendant of Lucien. Talk to one of the guardians. He will tell you to kill Lucien to protect the staff and give you a pendant of Armadyl which allows you to attack him.

Side with Lucien: Keep your pendant of Lucien on. Take the staff, you will have to kill all the guardians in the room.

Return to Lucien: Exit the room by the strange looking wall and go up the ladder. Use key on door to exit. Go/teleport  to Varrock, and exit via the northeast exit, follow the wall surrounding the castle, west then south, and you will see a house with Lucien in it. Enter that house and kill Lucien (level 14) or give him the staff.
